Black Friday Rip-Off: Target Sale Actually Jacks Up Prices Of iPhone 7

Retail giant Target is being accused of ripping-off consumers with its Black Friday sale of iPhone 7 units. The store allegedly claims discounting the flagship phone of Apple by advertising it is on sale, but it turns out to be more expensive in the end.

According to BGR, a consumer who searches for an iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus or iPhone 6 Plus at Target’s online store on its Black Friday deal would read about a gift card promotion that would provide the buyer of the smartphones a $250 store voucher. At the onset, it may appear to be a similar deal as what Walmart and Best Buy also offer.

More Expensive Prices

However, the prices of the Apple phones on Target’s Black Friday sale are actually higher compared to other stores. The iPhone 7 has a price tag of $1,129.99. But the regular price of that flagship phone is only $649 for the 32GB model and $849 for the 256GB. The price is just for one unit and it is not a bundle deal.

Some consumers are actually buying the overprices Apple iPhones just because it is advertised as “on sale” as part of Target’s Black Friday sale even if the buyers were actually ripped-off by the giant retailer. According to Scienceworldreport, Target also listed as part of its Black Friday deal the Apple TV at a 25 percent price off at $112.49.

Watch Series & iPad Pro

For Cyber Monday, Target is offering the Apple Watch Series 1 for $198 or a price reduction of $72. It is the same price for the watch’s 38 mm and 42 mm models. The retailer is also claiming to offer discounts between $150 and $250 for the Apple iPad Pro 9.7 inch with storage choices of 32GB, 128 GB and 256 GB.
