ARMA 3 beta gets a trailer showing upcoming weapons, vehicles, challenges, and more

Bohemia Interactive has put out a new trailer for the tactical shooter Arma 3, presenting factions, firing drill challenges, MP scenarios, current vehicles and weapons featured in the beta, and what's to come in future additions.

The Arma 3 Beta features the island of Stratis, 20 weapons, 18 vehicles, 3 factions, 8 showcase missions, 4 multiplayer scenarios, 4 challenges, the scenario editor and modding support. To participate in the game's development, people can purchase the Arma 3 Beta now. A Steam exclusive (there will also be boxed retail editions available), gamers can grab the beta for $44.99, or the Arma 3 Digital Deluxe Edition for $59.99 USD. Both editions will net buyers a complete edition of the game once it's released.

Even if you haven't played any of the Arma games, you've no doubt heard of them. You may have read about two Bohemia Interactive employees who were arrested for espionage on the Greek island of Lemnos for shooting video and taking photographs. It's this site where Arma 3 takes place, renamed in the game as Altis.

Likewise, the wildly popular DayZ began life as a mod for Arma II, and was popular enough that it was able to send the game to the top of sales charts, despite that the game was over 2 years old at the time.

Arma 3 will feature over 40 weapons and more than 20 vehicles by the time it's complete. Set in the near-future in a Mediterranean sandbox of over 290 square kilometers, the game puts players in the boots of British Special Forces soldier Captain Scott Miller, part of a deployment of NATO forces to hold off an Iranian military offensive.

If you're already playing the beta, you can check out the patch notes for the latest title update here, and check out the trailer below.
