This Year's Cyber Monday is the Best in the History of Amazon

2016's Cyber Monday is not yet over but Amazon has already made a statement that this could be their best Cyber Monday in history as millions of Americans are shopping online this year.

In an interview of Fortune, Amazon's Senior Vice President Doug Herrington said that they were inspired by the strong sales this last Thanksgiving and Black Friday. Though there was no disclosure on the actual sales figures, the e-commerce giant was able to generate 36% of all online sales on last year's Cyber Monday.

This year, data from Adobe is predicting that holiday shoppers are expected to spend around $3.36 billion on online shopping that would match or even exceed the previous Black Friday Sale of $3.34 billion. If the predictions turned out to be true then there will be an increase of 9% in its sales compared to last year's.

According to Amazon, the top-selling item so far from the Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday sale is its own Echo dot speaker which is priced at only $39.99 as part of its Cyber Monday deal.

Aside from its Echo, Herrington also added that some of the best-selling products in Amazon.com include TVs, e-readers, and toys; and the majority of the purchases are made through the customer's smartphone. Last year's holiday season, more than 70% of the customers used their mobile phones to buy online and the number is expected to increase this year.

Meanwhile, in the report of Washington Post, as of Monday morning, generated sales from online shopping has reached $540 million according to the data of Adobe.

Adobe has also confirmed that the best-selling gadgets for this early part of Monday include the Microsoft Xbox, Sony PS4, and Samsung 4K resolution TVs. In the area of Toys, top-selling are Lego, Shopkins, and Nerf.
