Martian Manhunter is now ready to download for Injustice: Gods Among Us [Trailer]

Open up your wallets, because the latest DLC character for NeatherRealm's DC fighter is now ready to open a can of whoop ass on Superman. The Martian Manhunter is now ready to play.

NeatherRealms' head Ed Boon first showed off the character at this year's EVO. Like Superman, not only is he one of the last surviving members of an alien race, he also claims many of the same powers as the Man of Steel, likewise the result of his alien heritage: flight, super strength, regeneration, endurance, speed, as well as few powers Superman can only dream of having, like telepathy, mind control, and shape shifting.

Despite his vast array of powers, Martian Manhunter relies on a Dhalsim-like style the developers have dubbed "Alien Malleability". He'll use this stretchy talent to pull off combos from a distance. He also employs a fair bit of trickery with teleportation. Both talents will no doubt come in handy at keeping combos going and opponents stuck in the air. While in the comics, Manhunter is roughly as strong as Superman, in the game, he's is weak at close range.

Like the rest of the Injustice's DLC characters from Lobo to Zod, gamers can grab J'onn J'onzz for 400 MS Points on Xbox 360, or $4.99 on PlayStation 3 (still no mention yet if he'll be coming to the Wii U later, or at all). But unlike the rest of the DLC combatants, gamers will have to shell out bucks to download the Manhunter, as he's not included on the game's Season Pass.

As he did for the Justice League cartoon, Carl Lumbly again provides the voice for J'onzz.

The John Stewart skin for Green Lantern seen in Manhunter's introductory trailer is also expected today. At the moment, Mr. Jones is only available via Xbox Live, but will hit the PS Store when it updates this evening.

And to bring you up to speed on the character, NeatherRealms has put out a brief character trailer, which you can check out below.

Manhunter is the fifth DLC character for Injustice: Gods Among Us, but apparently won't be the last.

When asked as much by a fan, Boon tweeted in response, "No he is not the last." "Next one is a BIG fan favorite request !!" he added. Boon hasn't dropped any clues as to who this new character could be though. "BIG fan favorite" is rather ambiguous when you consider the hundreds of heroes included in the DC universe.

When prodded for more information, Boon responded with "is Riddler part of Batman?" and later, "Did I say Zatanna?"

We'll keep you posted if Boon ever confirms either character, or another one altogether.
