AT&T Is Looking At Enticing Cable TV Subscribers With The Future Of Cable In The New DirecTV

AT&T is looking to bank on their new gig at Cable TV without having to spend much on installation and a cable platform that does not require proprietary equipment. The network service provider seems to believe that millions of millennials would sign up for what it seems to be a new way of watching your favorite shows.

AT&T has just recently rolled out its DirecTV service for cable TV subscribers who would want to take part in AT&T's newest promotion. The new service is quite intriguing, aside from letting you watch your favorite shows on TV. Subscribers can now also enjoy mobile friendly features that would allow you to access the list of channels you have on your subscription without having to worry about your data cap. You can stream TV shows on your smartphone without having to spend your allocated high speed mobile data.

According to Forbes, the new cable service allows you to get cable coverage for as low as $35. The package includes most of the popular cable networks including ABC, AMC, Bravo, CNN, ESPN, Fox News, FX, USA, TNT, TBS, and Syfy. You'll also be able to subscribe to your local NBC, and Fox channel affiliates.

There are also other packages that you can check out at AT&T's official website. Traditional cable subscribers might need to reconsider getting the new service because as most of the trends go for cable television, the DirecTV service won't be able to keep these low prices forever. Which according to statistics will be 30%-60% of your recurring monthly bill.

DirecTV Is More Like Playstation Vue and the Sling TV Service

In a post by Engadget, prospective subscribers for AT&T's DirecTV wouldn't be surprised by the features if they have already seen the Playstation Vue and Sling TV. The new service, however, lacks some of its competitors' key attributes like Playstation Vue's Cloud DVR and support for Roku devices.

AT&T's wireless cable service also lacks CBS and Showtime, one of America's most watched TV networks. The network service provider however has revealed that they are actively working to sign them on. For fans of football, the service also lacks support for NFL's Sunday Ticket. According to most experts, AT&T is still experimenting on the service's features and will probably get new updates for the future version of DirecTV.
