The 2017 upcoming movie "Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets" is based on the French comic series titled "Valerian and Laureline." Victoria's Secret model Cara Delevingne will play one of the leading roles in the movie.
The record artist Rihanna, likewise, is also one of the cast in the movie "Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets". She will portray a mysterious role in the movie and no details are given about her character.
Rihanna will appear alongside Cara Delevingne and the "Amazing Spiderman" actor Dane DeHaan. In a new teaser trailer of "Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets" that debuted lately, it shows Cara and Dane will appear mostly in the film as they play the leading role, and Rihanna plays a mysterious supporting role that can literally change clothes in a drop of a hat.
"Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets" plot will focus on Valerian and Laureline, agents from future Earth who was assigned to protect an intergalactic city called Alpha. "The Fifth Element" director Luc Besson, will direct the science fiction movie.
The cast of "Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets" will include Ethan Hawke, Clive Owen, John Goodman, Kris Wu and Herbie Hancock. Other than these actors and actresses, the movie is full of CGI effect of different kinds aliens that populate the whole movie.
"Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets" director Luc Besson admitted that he really wanted Rihanna to be part of the movie because of her voice, smile, looks and personality. Besson explained that Rihanna is not easily intimidated on set because she is used to performing on stage and gets along with her crew.
The filmmakers promise to bring viewers into a universe with no boundaries with its stunning and amazing visual effects. "Valerian and the City of Thousand Planets" can be seen in theaters on July 21, 2017.
