FIFA 14 will arrive bundled with Xbox One in Europe, apart from exclusive content

Microsoft is doing all it can to appease fans of the Xbox console that showed major disappointment when the Xbox One was revealed with its massive price tag and a number of policies. Now the company is looking ahead to this year's upcoming FIFA 14 from EA and has announced that European consumers who pre-order Xbox One will receive a copy of FIFA 14 for free.

It was rumored via MCV that such a move could be possible from Microsoft. "At Gamescom tomorrow," the previous report stated, "an Xbox One/FIFA 14 tie-up will be announced in a bid to win over European gamers, according to two senior games industry sources. The bundle will still retail for £429.99, the same price as the Xbox One base unit."

"The move is designed to make Xbox One appear better value for money as it currently retails for £80 more than PS4. FIFA 14 has an RRP of £54.99."

While both EA and Microsoft were unable to offer any kind of a comment on the situation at the time, it has now been confirmed via Microsoft's pre-Gamescom press conference. The move is step to attract more customers and appease the remaining few who still feel that Xbox One is not a good value.

European customers will enjoy the latest FIFA title for free "while stocks last." The deal also applies to existing pre-orders.

"EA has a partnership with Xbox, which will see exclusive FIFA Ultimate Team Legend packs be made available exclusively on the next-generation console. The packs will include legendary players and was announced with the help of football legends Dennis Bergkamp, Freddie Ljungberg and Ruud Gullit," the new report states.

EA has already announced a partnership with Spanish La Liga giants F.C. Barcelona for a three-year deal that will make EA Sports the official video game partner for the club, with the company having already captured 3D head scans of as many as 17 F.C. Barcelona players such as Xavi Hernandez, Gerard Pique, Cesc Fabregas, Dani Alves, and Andres Iniesta for FIFA 14, which will appear as 3D digital player models in FIFA 14.

FIFA 14 is currently set for release later this year.
