New PlayStation Communities App Makes Finding Teammates Fast and Easy; Sony Releases App on iOS and Android

Sony revealed that it released the PlayStation Communities application on Android and iOS on Nov. 29. The said app has been designed to let PlayStation 4 players to easily find and contact other players with the same interest as them.

The American tech giant made the announcement on the arrival of the app via the PlayStation blog. "Today we're launching a PlayStation Communities app on iOS and Android, making it easy to stay in touch with your fellow PS4 gamers while away from the console," VP, PlayStation Brand Marketing, John Koller said in the post.

What is PlayStation Communities App?

It is a circle where the people in the group share the same interest in gaming. For example, a person may find other players who play the same game as he is. Or, the PlayStation Communities app also make it possible for a certain group to assist players find other players with whom they can team up with in the game.

What Other Things Can It Do?

PlayStation Communities app users can search and join new groups within the app. The application will display the available communities, especially the trending ones, and recommend it to users according to the games they play.

What's more, the app is a standalone so it can be used even without the PlayStation console. This means, even if you are away from the PS4, keeping in touch with your teammates is still doable.

In a nutshell, the PlayStation Communities app works just like the regular forums where members talk about games with one another. Players who have the app can instantly look up, join or connect with groups.

All members are free to post messages on the community wall. They can also choose to just chat about games or start playing in a multi-player game set up, MacRumors reported. Check out more details in the video below:
