EA CFO Blake Jorgensen conferred interesting topics at an investor briefing in Europe. Jorgensen hinted on a bigger future for "Star Wars: Battlefront 2" and their plans for "Battlefield."
The company will not make another game for the "Battlefield" series in two years. He further said that EA is looking for ways to provide extra opportunities to engage their players. He emphasized that EA is not just about building another game. The company's driving commitment is focused mainly on the development and improvement of all its games before financial considerations. Jorgensen pointed out that if people will engage in a game more, it can monetize more overtime.
Also in the event, Jorgensen discussed the forthcoming "Star Wars: Battlefront 2." Many assessed the game as lacking depth substance for hardcore. A criticism Jorgensen acknowledged. He commented that there were criticisms because players want more. Those criticisms are well taken and are guides as EA build the next game while addressing the issues in the past.
The first "Battlefront," which sold 14 million copies, became one of the best-selling "Star Wars" games in history. The game focused on characters and settings from the original trilogy: Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, Leia, and Darth Vader. The "Star Wars: Battlefront 2," though, will lean more on the latest movies which should give the game an opportunity to reach a wider audience according to Digital Trends.
Gamespot reported that Jorgensen described "Star Wars: Battlefront 2" as a much bigger, much more exciting instalment. The game, though not yet formally announced, is reportedly due for release in fall of 2017. "Star Wars: Battlefront 2" is not the only "Star Wars" development presently in the works at EA. The first "Battlefront's" next development, "Rogue One: Scarif," enhances its content and characters from the upcoming movie. The DLC will be out in December, ahead of the film's release.
