"The Vampire Diaries" lead stars Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley are both frontrunners to play Lestat de Lioncourt and Louis de Pointe du Lac in Anna Rice upcoming "The Vampire Chronicles" television series.

Rumor has it that "The Vampire Diaries" actors Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley both fit the characters of Anna Rice's beloved fictional characters Lestat and Louis, who were portrayed by Hollywood A-list actors Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt in the film Version "Interview with the Vampire".

According to Australia Network News, Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley's "The Vampire Diaries" will officially end this coming March 2017 however, this does not mean that the two actors will also take a rest in playing a vampire character.

Ian Soemrhalder and Paul Wesley have been playing the role of Damon and Stefan Salvatore in "The Vampire Diaries" for the past eight year. This alone, could be one of the bases of Anna Rice to be convinced that these actors fit her requirements for Lestat and Louis character.

Meanwhile, as the news started filling up the web, fans begin to express their opinion and excitedly welcome Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley as the new vampire hotties that will soon portray Lestat and Louis. Fans think that they will perfectly play the characters just like how Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt portray it.

On the other hand, though majority of their fans are in favor of the rumored new roles of Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley, some think that they should take rest for fantasy-type series and let go the vampire characters of Lestat and Louis and just move on to other projects and explore new characters far from their previous role in "The Vampire Diaries".

Anna Rice "The Vampire Chronicles"

iTechPost reported that Anna Rice confirmed on her official Facebook page that her "The Vampire Chronicles" will be a TV series soon and is currently in the early stages of production.

Furthermore, Anna Rice also noted that she and her son, Christopher, team up for the project and still looking for television producers.

"Television is where the vampires belong," the writer said.

"The Vampire Chronicles" that is set to be seen on our TV screens will allegedly start with the story of the main vampire Lestat de Lioncourt, titled "The Vampire Lestat".
