'LEGO Worlds' Release Date, News & Update: TT Games Confirms Launch of Minecraft-like Game on PS4 and Xbox One
On Nov. 29, via press release, TT Games Head of Production Jonathan Smith said, "In LEGO Worlds, players will go on an exciting journey to become a Master Builder in an open-world made completely of LEGO-built environments."
He added, "Whether customizing characters, exploring in vehicles, building structures, or discovering an expansive range of items, characters and creatures throughout the worlds, there's the freedom to create anything imaginable."
Looking at "LEGO Worlds," one cannot help but think of "Minecraft" and LEGO Dimensions due to the striking similarities in graphics. How the game is played is quite similar to Minecraft's as well.
In any case, "LEGO Worlds" is actually already out and playable on PC via Steam's Early Access program. It was placed there for the game to be continuously tested prior to full release.
To be more precise, the Steam Early Access version of "LEGO Worlds" has been on active since June 2015. The game received mostly good feedback, about 81 percent of reviewers left positive comments.
Now, TT Games thinks that the game is almost complete and ready for full release. Thus the gaming company set the launch of the full version on February 2017 for two consoles.
Mirror UK quoted LEGO's Digital Games VP, Niels Jørgensen as saying that the management is very excited to distribute the physical and digital copies of "LEGO Worlds." He further said that they believe that the game has a huge potential to inspire and develop future builders through the experience that can be had from the open-ended creative play.
Finally, Jørgensen assured players that "LEGO Worlds" would be more than just a sandbox play. He stated that the company will be developing the game more and they will be releasing new characters, missions and adventures add-ons along the way.
