Expect additional free DLC replete with contents and maps for "Gears of War 4" as Microsoft confirms changes this December. "Gears of War 4" is also looming for a holiday-themed event although details about this are still scarce.
Two maps are routing toward "Gears of War 4," including what Microsoft called Speyer and Glory. Players can have a glimpse of what it feels and looked like before the Locust War. Further, this map presents an opportunity for marksmen and snipers to shine because of its long sightlines.
On the contrary, "Gears of War 4" Glory map appears to be a defensive gameplay with a castle and fortress. It features a turret which can decimate enemies with barrage of fire from upper vantage point, GameSpot said. "Gears of War 4" Glory map can be exciting when holding off the attackers while exhilarating because of potential close-quarter combat should the defense peels off.
Here is a catch for these "Gears of War 4" maps, they work on rotating basis. Meaning, the addition of Speyer and Glory will result to temporary disappearance of Gridlock and Relic. The way to play the latter maps is to purchase a season pass or purchase these "Gears of War 4" maps themselves, as described in official forum.
Now here is how to play "Gears of War 4" Speyer and Glory, season pass holders can access them through "Developer" playlist starting Dec 6th. However, those who opt for public release have to wait it out until Dec 13th. Meaning, "Gears of War 4" season pass has full 7-day heads up to gain extra credits and XP compared to non-season pass.
Meanwhile, Microsoft also plans for Core and Competitive playlist for future "Gears of War 4" updates. In is unclear what these can offer but expect additional details in the coming days. "Gears of War 4" is also planning for light punishment for players who will end matches prematurely to discourage them from doing such.
