James Rodriguez has seen very little playtime in Real Madrid lately, and despite reassurances from Zinedine Zidane, the Columbian midfielder seems to have little faith left in him.
It's no secret that James Rodriguez has been out of favor in Real Madrid, despite the Columbian star's promise. In the club's match against Sporting Gijon where Rodriguez's performance came into question, the French boss defended him and thought that he played as well as the others.
James Rodriguez is said to be fed up with the situation, as per Sports. Despite reassurances, not much has changed in his situation and he's had little playing time since last season.
It's a shame that not much has happened for James Rodriguez ever since he joined Real Madrid. Rodriguez could have been the next contender in the ever-evolving story of Barcelona versus Madrid, with him and Neymar as the successor of the Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo rivalry. But for many reasons, Rodriguez hasn't proven much of himself in Madrid as he can be compared to Neymar, who is now considered as a global icon and a recent contender for Ballon d'Or.
James went from being voted as the best midfielder in La Liga in his debut season with 17 goals and 16 assists to a player who is now regarded as a luxury substitute and struggling to even have playing time.
The report also adds that Rodriguez's agent, Jorge Mendes, is now looking into possible transfers for the Columbian international in January. Chelsea FC is said to be going head to head against Manchester United to acquire him. It would take an offer of around $74M for Real Madrid to consider selling him though.
