The return of Nina Dobrev in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 has been frequently argued since her last appearance in season 6. Although a lot of reports have pointed to Nina's refusal to reappear in the season finale, several reports have also claimed that Nina will return to the series. Now, it has been reported that Nina might have already filmed Episode 12.

According to previous reports, the decline in the rating of "The Vampire Diaries" was primarily due to the removal of Nina's character, Elena Gilbert in the series. Fans have raised their frustrations on Damon and Elena's separation. Julie Plec, the showrunner, has been very positive in creating a strong presence of Elena in season 7, and she has promised the viewers of the same element in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8.

However, avid followers of the Elena-Damon tandem might be happy to know that Nina Dobrev has already filmed "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 Episode 12, as reported by Gamenguide. Rumors entail that Nina Dobrev agreed to film the series to provide closure for Elena and Damon relationship. To recall, Elena and Damon never got to live a happy ending when Elena was placed into a sleeping spell.

However, it may seem that these rumors carry less truth as Julie Plec recently announced that it's not far that Katherine Pierce will come back to the series, Entertainment Weekly reports. Katherine may finally have closure with everything and everyone around her. There's no confirmation yet as to Katherine's role but fans will finally see Nina's return in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8.

The bigger question is whether Elena and Damon could also find closure in their relationship. Fans will have to wait and see how "The Vampire Diaries " Season 8 will unfold. Stay tuned for more Gamenguide update.
