Artificial Intelligence Latest News & Update: Facebook Meets With Millenials To 'Demystify' AI Concept

Facebook has decided to make the concept of artificial intelligence known to young generation and make sure it does not remain a complicated and mysterious term anymore. The social media brand has a separate AI laboratory where the students can learn various details about the concept.

Facebook Simplifies Artificial Intelligence For Millenials

Facebook's AI Lab and Applied Machine Learning group's research chief operator Yann LeCun and Joaquin Quininero Candela confirmed that the students will be guided with the concept and will be made comfortable with the term, which they think is complicated. To do so, Facebook would want the students to focus more on Mathematics.

The tech company, according to the Tech Crunch, will focus on Calc I, Calc II, Calc III, Probability, Linear Algebra and Statistics. This is instead of the rather than widely-used principle of STEM that stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths.

Facebook's AI Plan

Facebook will introduce a public relations campaign on Thursday and present videos and theories designed to educate on the different terminologies used by the AI niche. LeCun confirmed that Facebook, though its campaign, will try to "demystify" the concept of AI and tell people that artificial intelligence is no magic.

Another goal is to get the younger generation attracted to the field, which they might run away from because of their suspicion of it being mysterious and complicated. "AI is going to affect our lives and it's going to affect technology and it's very important to have some idea of how it works and what it can do," Fortune quoted LeCun as saying.
