The 8th installment in the "Dead Rising" series, Capcom Vancouver's "Dead Rising 4," is set to come out on December 6, 2016. The game features the comeback of Frank West, the main character of the first game and "Dead Rising 2: Off the Record."
Capcom Vancouver's "Dead Rising 4" was officially announced and presented at Microsoft's E3 on June 2016. The trailer presented Frank West returning to Willamette and revealed the setting for the game to be set during Christmas period. The game occurred 16 years after the first game and a new outbreak has lead the newly built Willamette Memorial Megaplex Mall swamped by zombies. The retired photojournalist Frank West has to find out the cause of this mysterious outbreak.
Capcom Vancouver's "Dead Rising 4" will retain the bigger open world from "Dead Rising 3" as the main character can now travel outside the mall and explore the dangerous town of Willamette. The game will start in a safe house where weapons can be acquired. In order to stay alive, the player must reach a safe house by the end of the day. Additional features in the series are the removal of the time limit from the main game and the new combo weapons.
Xbox says that Capcom Vancouver's "Dead Rising 4" will be introducing a new breed of zombies called Freshies that are very aggressive seeking to rip their prey "from limb to limb." Other zombies to watch out are the Evos who leap from above to tackle their prey, howl to enrage nearby zombies and hold their attacks until victims drop their guard.
Capcom Vancouver's "Dead Rising 4" is set to release exclusively for Xbox One and Windows 10 in December but Microsoft has confirmed to Gamespot that the upcoming survival horror adventure game is just a time-exclusive and could eventually make its way to PS4 and Stream.
