The Witcher 3 will support DualShock 4 only if it serves the purpose

While we are all hung up on the idea of huge open-world gameplay from titles like Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto 5, or Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs, we tend to forget that the best is still yet to come in the form of CD Projekt RED’s upcoming The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

With such a massive open-world in the offering, it seems pretty obvious that fans will look to receive more dedicated features from the game, as far as its relationship with the PS4-based DualShock 4 controller is concerned.

Peter Gelencser, Senior Level Designer over at CD Projekt RED, was recently in an interview with Gamingbolt where he discussed this prospect: “I think a lot of things like that are being considered. I can’t really say anything specific on that. I mean, we’re experimenting a lot of things, because with the new hardware, the next gen consoles are offering a lot of things which we are very happy about because of the possibilities.

“So let’s use them if we can. But again, story first, game first. We’re not going to waste our time into something that does not serve the purpose of the story and your experience.”

The Witcher 3 has already been confirmed for the SmartGlass, will feature Kinect-based voice commands on the Xbox One. The UI will also be ported for SmartGlass purposes such as inventory and character management.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, set for an arrival in the spring of 2014, is said to have a setting which is more than "30 times larger" than previous Witcher games. It was also confirmed previously that the game won’t be featuring a multiplayer mode.
