'Marvel Vs Capcom Infinite' Officially Revealed: Gameplay Details, Trailers & Release Date

For the past week rumors have been flooding the internet about Capcom's follow up to its "Marvel vs Capcom" franchise of fighting games. Fans of the game have been pestering the company for a follow up to the series. It seems Capcom finally listened to their fans by announcing its newest fighting game title slated for a 2017 release date. During the "Playstation Experience 2016" in Anaheim California, the company unveiled "Marvel vs Capcom Infinite."

In a report by EventHubs, the reveal trailer was first released during the "Playstation Experience 2016" showcase. The "Marvel vs Capcom Infinite" teaser featured MegaMan X with Ryu and what looks like the Power Infinity Stone. The pair appeared to be fighting against Iron man and Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers). It seemed like an opening cinematic, just like the ones on their previous collaboration fighting games. The trailer highlights some fight sequences with each character using their signature moves. Towards the end of the video, it showcases Captain Marvel using the Time Infinity Stone about to clash with Ryu and his activated Power Infinity Stone, while a glimpse of a speculated boss character is teased when the video closes.

The second reveal was introduced by "Street Fighter V" director Yoshinori Ono just after the Capcom Cup 2016 competition ended. The other "Marvel vs Capcom Infinite" video gave the game's supporters a sneak peek of its actual gameplay. Fans were treated to in-game footage of the above-mentioned characters dealing combos, while switching with their tag team partners. A brief scene nearing the end of the video showcased the characters using their respective Infinity Stones. Some fans could be reportedly heard ecstatically shouting "it's Marvel baby," which is a catchphrase purportedly used by the series' fans.

Before its official reveal, Shoryuken mentions that Capcom's Yoshinori Ono was spotted wearing a t-shirt with the print saying "When's Mahvel." A week before the official announcement, Polygon already reported that sources confirmed the existence of the game and its 2017 release date. Some of the gameplay details speculated indicate that the title will have a 2v2 fighting system. Additionally, the game will feature an Infinity Stone system similar to Capcom's 1995 "Marvel Super Heroes" arcade game. Marvel vs Capcom Infinite is scheduled for a 2017 release and would be available for the Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC.
