With over a hundred champions to select from, what's one more for RIOT Games' MMO battler League of Legends? Granted, she may not be able to take part in any tournaments in Iran any time soon, but she should be a hoot for players around the rest of the world.
Jinx is the name of the latest champion, and she seems to be nuttier than squirrel turds. After a nice story build up, RIOT gave fans the lowdown on Jinx via the usual Champion Reveal. While a great many LoL characters fight from afar with magic, Jinx keeps enemies at bay with more "modern" fare; like a mini-gun, rocket launcher, and grenades.
Obviously, the "loose cannon" has some marksman skills, which will come in handy with her back breaking launchers and rifles. She's amuch at home tossing out grenades as she is zapping champions with blasts of electricity.
With the devil-may-care attitude, barely there multi-colored ensemble, and penchant for oversized armaments, it's hard not to see shades of DC Comics' Harley Quinn in Jinx, especially in her backstory:
"Jinx lives to wreak havoc without a thought for consequence, leaving a trail of mayhem and panic in her wake. A manic and impulsive criminal, she despises nothing more than boredom, and gleefully unleashes her own volatile brand of pandemonium to the one place she finds dullest: Piltover. With an arsenal of deadly toys, she unleashes the brightest explosions and loudest blasts - all the better to shock and surprise the hapless authorities. Always just out of the law's reach, Jinx's favorite game is to toy with Piltover's finest - especially Vi."
But while Harley just wants to show love to her puddin', Jinx loves nothing more than chaos, pure and simple.
As a ranged opponent, she's best left to opponents with high defense who choose to fight up close and personal. Anyone else should be on their guard, as according to RIOT, "Jinx is a versatile marksman armed with an arsenal of eclectic weapons. Her assortment of arms wreaks a ton of havoc, enabling her to deal brutal bouts of damage at the expense of mobility."
But even players who can stand the tremendous amount of damage she can deal out, the fight's not yet over once you get in close. "One of the most important facets to playing Jinx is harnessing the power of Switcheroo! to safely harass her enemies from a distance with her rocket launcher before unleashing a hail of minigun pain when the moment calls."
Likewise, her "Zap!" ability can slow down enemies in hot pursuit, leaving them open to Jinx's "Flame Chomper" grenades, which can detonate on contact, as well as set enemies aflame.
Her "Get Excited" ability make her a great choice to use in the last throes of a tower or champion, as "Whenever a champion or tower that Jinx has dealt damage to within the last 3 seconds is killed or destroyed, she gains 175% Movement Speed that decays over 4 seconds." This boost, combined with her ranged attacks can make her a truly dangerous tank character, a feature most gamers wouldn't expect given her small frame.
