NFL 2016 Latest News & Updates: Colin Kaepernick Moving To New York Giants or Jets Next Season?

Colin Kaepernick made headlines recently though the latest one was perhaps for all the wrong reasons. The first one had to do with the fact that he is expected to opt out of his contract with the San Francisco 49ers. The other had to with a setting an NFL record for quarterback futility.

As far as his contract is concerned, Colin Kaepernick is expected to shun the remainder of his contract to become a free agent. Things haven’t been rosy for him with the 49ers though he could still return but with a new pact.

The second headliner, however, negates that return to San Francisco bit for Colin Kaepernick. He was recently benched after turning out a poor performance against the Chicago Bears. The 29-year-old got himself into the NFL record books for getting sacked five times and throw fewer than five yards in a game, the Washington Post reported.

Despite the humiliating performance, 49ers coach Chip Kelly explained that it doesn’t mean that Kaepernick will lose his starting job. Rather, using Blaine Gabbert was a means to start some offensive spark. It remains if this holds up in the 49ers next game against the New York Jets next week, ESPN reported.

Speaking of New York, the latest is that Colin Kaepernick is putting his San Jose home for sale. He bought a two-bedroom apartment just north of the World Trade Center and some are now tying it to a possible move to either the New York Giants or New York Jets next season, Mercury News reported.

Nothing is certain on where Kaepernick may end up next season though there are a lot of teams in need of a quarterback. Among the potential teams, he could land in include the Arizona Cardinals, Cleveland Browns, Denver Broncos, New York Jets or even the Washington Red Skins.
