Far Cry 4 already in the works [REPORT]

Composer Cliff Martinez Lets slip He's Working on Far Cry 4's Soundtrack

Ubisoft clearly knew what it was doing when making Far Cry 3. The game is a serious contender for several outlet's 2013 Game of the Year, and its standalone Blood Dragon DLC was a shrt but sweet follow up. Given the game's success and positive reviews, it seems to make sense that another Far Cry is in order, right?

Back in July, Ubisoft's Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales, Tony Key, told GameSpot, "We're totally psyched from [Far Cry 3]. It's a great brand, and now it's got the recognition it deserves, so we're clearly going to make another one: more on that soon." But that's the last Ubisoft said on the matter. No formal plans have been made public since.

But recently, it looks like the game might be currently be under going development. Composer Cliff Martinez, whose works include "Drive," "Traffic," "Contagion," and EA's Spore in 2008, recently told Lost in the Multiplex, "There's a secret mission that I'm not completely on yet, it looks like I'll also be doing a Soderbergh TV series called The Knick, and I'm working on a video game called Far Cry 4."

Interestingly, the bit about working on Far Cry 4 has since been removed from Lost in the Multiplex's article, indicating that either Ubisoft and/or Martinex may have let the word on the game slipped before things were ready.

Given the companies penchant for changing the setting, protagonists, and antagonists between each Far Cry title, expect something similar for Far Cry 4 if more information ever comes to light.

Ubisoft has yet to comment on Martinez's statement, or a new Far Cry title since Key spoke with GameSpot over the summer.
