'Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite' Release Date, News & Updates: Latest Gameplay Trailer Teases the Power of Infinity Stones; More Details Revealed

A new gameplay trailer for "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" was presented recently during the Capcom Cup this past weekend. The second day of the event was actually held at Anaheim Convention Center in California which also coincided with the PlayStation Experience (PSX) 2016. The new promotional clip teases the powers of the Infinity Stones in the game.

The clip that was revealed during the Capcom Cup for "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" highlights the battle between the characters that were featured. Also, it showcased the purpose of the Infinity Stone which is one of the new features of the upcoming title. According to reports the gameplay trailer only presented two Infinity Stones which are Time Stone and the power Stone.

The abilities of the two mythical items were not exactly identified in the video of "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite," but it teased its capabilities. It was seen that Ryu utilized the Power Stone and executes a flurry of strikes against the opponent. Even though the health points of the enemy were not included in the scene, it can be assumed that the Power Stone adds more damage to the attacks. Meanwhile, Captain Marvel used the Time Stone which allowed her to be faster in order to land more hits towards the opponent.

The Infinite Stones are powerful items that came from the Marvel Universe and the story of "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" revolve around those gems. It was also hinted at the end of the reveal trailer during PSX 2016 that Thanos might be the main antagonist of the upcoming title. So far the fighters that will be part of the game's roster are Ryu, Captain Marvel, Mega Man X, Iron Man, Captain America, and Morrigan. It appears that the battle system has departed from the 3v3 format and has resorted to a 2v2 battle instead.

There is no definite release date yet for "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite," but its planned arrival is set during the fourth quarter of 2017. It will also be playable on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms.
