Batman: Arkham Origins News - Lady Shiva and Killer Croc Are the Last Assassins?

Lady Shiva and Killer Croc Appear in Batman: Arkham Origins

Slowly but surely, Warner Bros. has been dripping out information for who players can expect to pummel as Gotham's vigilante, and now with only days to go before the game releases, we're left with two spot left, and a host of Batman's Rogues Gallery that could possibly take the spots. However, ahead of Warner's official reveal, it seems as though the identity of the last two assassins has already surfaced.

Shots obtained from AllGamesBeta, seen below, have popped up online showing that the final two assassins competing for Black Mask's bat-bounty are none other than two of the caped crusader's most notable enemies - Lady Shiva, and Killer Croc.

Arkham fans are more than familiar with Killer Croc, who provided a paranoid romp through his murky home in Arkham Asylum's, and later appeared in a hidden sequence in the sewers underneath Arkham City. However, players never directly squared off with the monstrosity in either confrontation, and it looks like his appearance could change that in Origins. In keeping in line with the game being a prequel, note that while he still have the face only a mother could love, he's still somewhat human looking, indicating that his condition hasn't advanced as far as it did in later games. He was always portrayed as a bit of a brute, more brawn than brain, and often plays the role of hired muscle for various crime kingpins, very infrequently working for himself.

Lady Shiva may not be that well known to gamers, but she's a big figure in the comics, and acknowledged by Batman as possibly the deadliest woman in the world, capable of beating some of Gotham's femme fatales like Catwoman, Harley Quinn, or Poison Ivy to a bloody mess. Her involvement in Origins is fitting, as she's one of the world's top assassins in the comics. While she has butted heads with Batman on several occasions, she's also helped train more than one member of the Bat-family, including Batman himself after he had his back broken by Bane.

Now, as Origins includes a multitude of DC characters, like Joker, Penguin, Mad Hatter, Anarky, and others, whether Croc and Shiva are indeed the final assassins is as of yet unconfirmed by Warner Bros. But given the characters' history, it seems likely enough. If so, they join, Bane, Deadshot, Deathstroke, Copperhead, Firefly, and Electrocutioner who are all trying to take out Batman in what would no doubt amount to one of the longest nights in the vigilante's career.

We'll find out when Batman: Arkham Origins releases on PC, PlayStation 3, Wii U, and Xbox 360 next week, October 25.
