Samsung Gear S2 News & Update: Sleek Timekeeper Gets Updated with Heaps of Gear S3 Features

Samsung Gear S2 has been updated and it now sports various features that were initially only available to its successor, the Gear S3. The upgrade made users happy since they can enjoy more advance features without having to shell out much money to get the Gear S3.

On Dec. 5, Samsung announced the new update for Samsung Gear S2 via press release. The company enumerated the new features and upgrades that the Gear S2 has received and they are quite impressive.

Moreover, the Samsung Gear S2 update is only 133 MB but promises heaps of apps and improvements. Since its announcement two days ago, the update should fully roll out within the next few days.

Look

Firstly, the Samsung Gear S2 ‘Value Pack' includes improvements on the device's aesthetics. The update opens up the Gear S3 watch faces that users can apply to their wearable. This means, you can now instantly change the appearance of your watch by choosing any design from the available watch faces.

Th Samsung Gear S2 update will also make accessing features and apps easy with the rotating bezel feature. Moreover, simply turning the bezel in clockwise or counter-clockwise directions will automatically reject or accept calls. Moving the bezel in counter-clockwise will also command the device to dismiss alarm, alerts and timer notifications.

Functionality

The Samsung Gear S2 Value Pack also introduce the ‘Handwriting Mode' where users can choose to write down symbols and characters using English, Korean or Chinese. What's more, there are 180 emojis to choose from and these can be added to messages and other texts.

The S Health service, Alti-Barometer and Reminders app were added to the Samsung Gear S2 devices too. These can be downloaded directly from Samsung store.

New Third-party Apps

Finally, as part of the latest Samsung Gear S2 update, the device will get new major third-party apps like Uber and Yelp. Samsung further notes that users will be able to access more games as well.
