Fans have long been waiting for another installment of the weapon-based fighting video game series, "Soulcalibur." It's been four years since the last game in the franchise was released and its followers believe it's high time for "Soul Calibur 6." However, fans have not heard any substantial updates about the next installment, until now.

Game publisher Bandai Namco just released the 20th Anniversary trailer for the franchise and it somehow suggested that it's not the end of the "Soulcalibur" series. On YouTube Bandai Namco showcased the trailer that featured clips from the previous installments of the game. It gave fans a brief trip down memory lane but what's noteworthy is that at the end of the trailer, it seemingly hinted that "Soul Calibur 6" is happening.

A slogan that read "The Legend Will Never Die" showed up at the end of the video and fans and viewers took it as a hint that "Soul Calibur 6" could be secretly in the works. There is also a link to the anniversary project, but it doesn't seem to offer clues about "Soul Calibur VI."

For a moment there, fans thought that it was just a way for Bandai Namco to tease the imminent release of "Soul Calibur 6". But then again, it could just be a way for the company to celebrate 20 years of a successful franchise. Metro, on the other hand, stated in its report that the Project Soul site's content is in Japanese so it would be hard to find clues to "Soul Calibur VI's" existence - if there are any left behind.

The anniversary for the series, which started with "Soul Edge" will be on Dec. 20 and Dualshockers speculated that a big announcement that's related to "Soul Calibur 6" could be revealed. Until then, fans should be open to speculations and take them with a pinch of salt. Stay tuned to GamenGuide for more updates.
