"Bates Motel" Season 5 will show how violent Norman Bates can be. Though the showrunner already pointed out and repeatedly clarify that the TV series will not perfectly match David Hitchcock's "Psycho" film series, spoilers hint a much darker and artistic new season just like the film.
Norman Bates as Norma
Since "Bates Motel" premiere last 2011, the story constantly shows how Norman evolves as a psychotic murderer. Though it is actually unclear how and why he turned into a psychopath and what triggers his hallucinations, fans think that it is all because of Norma.
Norma's overprotectiveness and fear got into Norman's system and it eventually evolves as a disturbing trait that turned him into a psychopath. We saw how he became troubled whenever there is someone who comes in between him and his mother and this alone only proves his strange connection to Norma.
In "Bates Motel" Season 5, it seems like viewers will get to see how the show will explore this connection between Norman and Norma. Now that the former is dead, the boy's hallucination will take over his entire world.
According to Hollywood Reporter, Carlton Cuse revealed that the Norman viewers will see in "Bates Motel" Season 5 will be much closer to the Norman Bates in the "Psycho" film but not to the extent that it will copy the movie.
Norman will become Norma in "Bates Motel" Season 5. This lead to fan theories that all the suppressed emotions from the previous seasons that he wanted to let out will be explored this season. Those emotions will be mixed with the emotions of his mother in his hallucination which will become a threat to the other character's lives.
Norman's Death List
Though there are no much spoilers about "Bates Motel" Season 5, predictions show who might be under Norman's death list: Romero, Dylan, Emma, Marion, and Madeleine.
Romero and Dylan have always been in torturing Norman's mind ever since they showed up in his life. Though he cuts off his connection with Dylan, once he found out that his brother killed their mother, this might trigger his desire to push Norman to the psychiatric ward in "Bates Motel" Season 5. Romero, on the other hand, we all know that he want to avenge Norma's death. This alone could lead to his death as we know how badly Norman wants him dead because of his affair with his mother.
Emma, Marion, and Madeleine are the three women who could also be killed off in "Bates Motel" Season 5. Though Marion's fate was already revealed in the movie, the two remaining women might be brutally die in Norman's hand as we all know that almost all his victims are the ones who is close to him. Emma is his best friend while Madeleine resembles his mother. This reason might trigger his hallucinations. Norma might ask him to kill the girls who affect him emotionally.
