'FIFA 17' Latest News, Tips and Updates: EA Reveals Team of the Week; Badge Released To Honor Chapecoense Players
"FIFA 17" has paid tribute to the Brazilian soccer team whose 19 members were killed in a plane crash in Colombia last month. EA Sports gave Ultimate Team players the Chapecoense badge.
Wearing this badge signifies that a "FIFA 17" player is one in sympathizing and supporting the family and all the loved ones of the 19 Chapecoense members who lost their lives in the plane accident. These people and 52 others were killed in the crash as they were making their way to Medellin in Colombia for the Copa Sudamericana Finals.
No one could have survived the horrific crash but three players from the team managed to save themselves from imminent death. However, goalkeeper Jakson Follmann lost his leg which was severely injured.
Football fans were shocked with what happened to the small team from Brazil which was reaping victory from one game to the other. Now, fans of the team can finally, in one way or another, show their support for the team through "FIFA 17."
'FIFA 17's' message
"In support of Chapecoense, wear this kit and crest in support of the friends, family and fans of Chapecoense," read the message from "FIFA 17." EA Sports has clearly shown that they want to gather sympathy and help for those killed in the crash.
Aside from the tribute, "FIFA 17" has also unveiled the Team of the Week which is composed of 12 players. It was made available for the Ultimate Team mode of the game.
Availability and other updates
Players can access this both in their PS4, Xbox One and PC consoles and the "FIFA 17" Web application. The release followed the controversial rainbow-colored kit released by EA to support LGBT rights. This has caused the impending ban of the game with the Russian MP saying that "FIFA 17" is promoting gay propaganda.
