'South Park: The Fractured But Whole' Release Date, News & Update: Watch Ubisoft's Hilarious Superhero RPG Trailer

Ubisoft, the developer of the acclaimed games "Prince of Persia" and "Watch Dogs," has released the trailer which its new project is based. "South Park: The Fractured But Whole," is a sequel to 2014's "South Park: The Stick of Truth." The superhero RPG is slotted to be out for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows sometime in 2017.

"South Park," the adult animated television series, became the inspiration for making "South Park: The Fractured But Whole."The player takes the role of the New Kid and teams up with the alter ego superhero personas of "South Park's" Eric Cartman (The Coon), Mr. Smart Guy Kyle Broflovski (Human Kite), Leopold Butters (Professor Chaos), Kenny McCormick (Mysterion) and the animal lover Stan Marsh (Tool Shed).

The kids of the "South Park" town in the Colorado Rocky Mountains started an exciting adventure assuming the roles of superheroes. However, a civil war arose after the boys became divided into rival groups. Those whose side is with Eric Cartman joined Coon and Friends while others joined Freedom Pals. The player controls The New Kid and recruits members for the Coon and Friends. Together, they'll combine their strength to defeat the dark powers that spread over the town.

Kotaku reports that the co-creator of the "South Park" series, Tyler Park, settled for the game's title as "South Park: The Fractured But Whole". The original planned name for the game is "The Butthole Of Time". However, Park said that he could not use "butthole" in the game's title as this could cause retailers not wanting a product with that term displayed on their shelves. As so, with some brainstorming, he came up with words that rhyme with butthole. "I just sat there at my desk for hours," Parker said, "how do I get buthole, buthole, butt hole, butt hole, but hole, but whole!"
