BBC One's Saturday programming will be all new as the sought-after shows will now be moved here starting the New Year. This will be led by Tom Hardy's new miniseries, "Taboo."
The "Mad Max: Fury Road" star will play as the adventurer James Delaney in the new television series, "Taboo." The show will be set in the 1800s era when Tom Hardy's character returns home from Africa to London, according to Daily Mail Online.
The role of "The Revenant" actor will become an heir of his father's shipping empire in "Taboo" as he will try to rebuild his life. However, it looks like things are going to be hard for James as his inheritance also comes with new enemies that are watching his every move.
Meanwhile, BBC already announced the coming of "Taboo" on its Saturday programming schedule. This is a move revealed by the network's director of content Charlotte Moore called "re-inventing BBC drama."
"'Taboo' will follow from Tom Hardy, Ridley Scott and Steve Knight - re-inventing BBC drama in a new slot on Saturday nights," Moore told The Telegraph. "I have to say it's such a thrill that Hollywood talent like this choose to be on the BBC, we never take it for granted but it's a real honor to work with the best talent in the business."
The new schedule of programming that includes "Taboo" is because of BBC's successful Four's European dramas that earned a lot of viewers in spite of being aired in the middle of the weekend. As more families stay at home every Weekend, especially Saturday nights, Moore hopes that they would watch a television show together that will "unite the nation."
