Detroit Pistons vs. Minnesota Timberwolves: Results, Highlights, Player of the Game

Andre Drummond put up another monster ballgame, recording 22 points and 22 rebounds to power the Detroit Pistons to a dominant win over the struggling Minnesota Timberwolves at Target Center.

Key Point of the Match:

After leading six points at the break, the Pistons blew by the Wolves 33-25 in the third quarter and again in the fourth 35-22 to secure the victory in Minnesota. Led by Drummond, the Pistons dominated the battle of the boards, 42-37, and then limited the Wolves to just 18.8 percent from the 3-point line.

Players of the Match:

Drummond recorded his third 20-20 game of the season. The Pistons power big man is no doubt one of the game's most dominant interior operators when healthy and motivated, something head coach Stan Van Gundy understands well. Reggie Jackson recorded 16 points while Tobias Harris and Marcus Morris added 16 each for the Pistons.

Karl Anthony Towns had a double-double performance with 14 points and 12 rebounds, but his efforts were not enough to put an end on the Wolves' slide.

Aftermath:

The Pistons split their last four games but the latest victory put them over .500 with a 13-12 record, which is just good for fourth place in a very competitive Central Division. They are scheduled to face the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday. The Wolves continue to disappoint and are now 6-17, dead last in the Northwest Division. On Monday, they will test the Golden State Warriors at home.
