Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag News: Mobile Spin-Off, Assassin's Creed: Pirates, Releases This December [VIDEO]

Assassin's Creed 4's Mobile Spin-Off, Pirates, Releases December 5

With pirate players able to pillage and plunder on both current and next-gen consoles, mobile gamers should be pleased to announce that they can expect to do the same when Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag spin-off, the infinitely more simply named Assassin's Creed: Pirates, arrives for iOS and Android devices in early December.

IGN is reporting that the mobile title drops on the 5th, and will go for $4.99 on both formats. Ubisfot confirmed the mobile title this past September, but didn't get too heavy on the details. The game takes place at the same time as Black Flag, but features a brand new character to the Creed universe.

Neither Assassin or Templar, all around pirate newcomer Alonzo Batilla is searching for the lost treasures of La Buse (the buzzard), a famous French privateer turned pirate who pillaged and plundered all over the Caribbean. Like a number of characters who appeared in the Creed games, La Buse was a hitorical figure, and an actual pirate. According to legend, he threw a necklace of his into a crowd, promising that whoever could understand the cryptogram enscribed on it would find his treasure.

While scouring the Caribbean, Batilla will cross swords with both Templars and Assassins in his search for the buzzard's booty. Some of the real life pirates encountered in Black Flag will make an appearance in Pirates, including Blackbeard, Bellamy, and Hornigold.

Going from the trailer seen below, the game is notably absent of the series traditional swordplay and free running, opting more for full scale, real time naval battles and ocean exploration.

In related news, the Black Flag experience isn't over yet, as the game is due to get its own DLC in the form of Blackbeard's Wrath.

PS3 Trophies has updated its list for Black Flag to include 10 additional trophies for the previously announced Freedom's Cry DLC (available for free with the game's Season Pass), as well as a new DLC, apparently called Blackbeard's Wrath.

Going by the list of trophies, it seems the DLC has players swap roles with Kenway for the infamous pirate, as well as the Abstergo avatar of Chinese pirate Jing Lang, the Orchid, and the Jaguar. Going from the list of trophies, it seems that the DLC is your basic multiplayer pack, so for those of you hoping that the infamous pirate lived on, sorry to disappoint.

The pack has yet to be formally announced, but you can see the list of trophies below:

Blackbeard's Wrath
Elevator to the Gallows - Kill a player using a lift that has been trapped with Booby Trap
Preemptive Strike - Playing as The Orchid, block 10 abilities from opponents with Sabotage
Queen Anne's Revenge - Playing as Blackbeard, perform an acrobatic kill and a gun kill in less than 10 seconds
Sacred Land - Playing as The Jaguar, be the highest scoring player of a Domination game session

Black Flag is currently available on the PlayStation 3 and 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, and PC.
