Ultra Street Fighter 4 News: Capcom Shows Off Super and Ultra Combos for Rolento [VIDEO]

Rolento Goes AWOL From Metro City For Ultra Street Fighter IV

Capcom has released some videos showing the newcomers' combos that will be hitting when Ultra Street Fighter 4 arrives next year, and Capcom Unity has posted them on YouTube so everyone can have a look.

Of all the "new" fighters coming to Ultra Street Fighter 4, Rolento is the one that gamers should be most familiar with. Like Hugo and Poison, he made his first appearance in the arcade beat 'em up Final Fight, but Street Fighter fans have had first-hand experience with this 'Nam commando since 1996 with Street Fighter Alpha 2.

Rolento might be the best balanced of the new characters. While no one comes close to Hugo's power as a bruiser, and he's not as agile as Poison or Elena, he can still dash around the screen with the best of 'em, but causes significantly more damage with his array of military armaments.

His infamous high-wire hanging "Take No Prisoners" move returns in Ultra Street Fighter 4, and is arguably the coolest of all of Rolento's Ultra moves, showing some great angles for this devestating ability.

While these videos are great, there's still no word on the identity of that brand new fighter. All we have to go on is what Capcom Senior Product manager Matt Dahlgren told the Jace Hall Show: "This character [has] never been featured in a Street Fighter game up until now." Ultra Street Fighter 4 "will be the first time he (or she) makes their fighting game debut." That would rule out a great number of Capcom's other characters who've appeared in countless cross over games, like X-Men Vs CapcomMarvel Vs Capcom, etc.

So while it's entirely possible that it's a brand new character, the chances are also good the character could be a familiar face (fingers crossed for someone from the beat 'em ups Cadillacs & Dinosaurs, or Alien vs. Predator, if only for the chance it could mean a possible port for either game on PSN or Xbox Live). We'll just have to wait and see.

Ultra Street Fighter 4 will release in two forms, with the player picking whichever they like:

1. As a $15 DLC upgrade - choose this route if you already have a copy of Street Fighter 4. With the price breakdown, it means you get each new character at $3 each.
2. As an all-new physical release, on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Besides the new characters, players will also get six new stages, all of which featured in Street Fighter X Tekken: Cosmic Elevator, Mad Gear Hideout, Jurassic Era Research Facility, Blast Furnace, and Pitstop 109.

Capcom recently announced that players could expect the game in Spring of next year.

If you wanna take a look at the other fighters, you'll spy the articles with the videos back at the main page.
