Pulverize Pandoran Turkeys With Borderlands 2's The Horrible Hunger of the Ravenous Wattle Gobbler DLC

2K games and Gearbox Software has released the second Headhunter DLC for its popular Borderlands 2 title called The Horrible Hunger of the Ravenous Wattle Gobbler. The new Thanksgiving-themed downloadable content for the game is available for $2.99.

The new DLC will see players participate in a hunger-themed competition that’s hosted by Mr. Torgue where the players will be challenged to hunt down a giant turkey called the Wattle Gobbler.

“Seasonal festivities are one of the major inspirations behind the Headhunter series. In the second Headhunter add-on, Mr. Torgue hosts a hunger-themed competition to hunt down a giant turkey, the Wattle Gobbler, and selects sacrificial recruits from all of the districts of Pandora to participate,” the official page states.

The description for the DLC also states that apart from all the turkey hunting involved, the update also offers “also a strong theme of family,” which is personified by characters like “Mr. Torgue’s super buff grandmother,” known as Grandma Flexington, whom players will meet for the very first time in the DLC.

The page adds: “Grandma Flexington reminds us that we should be nice to Grandma during the holidays, even if she rambles on for way too long. (This may be a tiny spoiler, but the actress that did voice over for Grandma Flexington performed that part so much better than we ever imagined and we can’t wait for players to finally meet her.)”

Also, new character heads and skins will be available “as symbols of your triumph – provided you’re successful in taking down the Wattle Gobbler, that is. You’re welcome to try it solo, but we of course recommend bringing friends.”

This is the second addition to the Headhunter series of DLCs, and the company is set to release the third, How Marcus Saved Mercenary Day, sometime in December.

The Halloween-themed TK Baha's Bloody Harvest, launched back in October which re-introduced fans to TK Baha from the first Borderlands. In the DLC, he was responsible for directing fans to the Pumpkin Kingpin’s pumpkin patch.

The Horrible Hunger of the Ravenous Wattle Gobbler is out now in the U.S., Europe, and Oceania for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. Check out a bit of gameplay and the opening to the DLC below.
