Battlefield 4 News: Second Assault DLC Unavailable on Xbox One, EA ‘Aware’ and 'Investigating’ with Microsoft

Battlefield 4's Second Assault DLC is MIA

There’s some problem with Battlefield 4’s Second Assault DLC for players on Xbox One. Apparently, the DLC has been missing for users on the console after it was recently pushed out. Both Microsoft and EA have confirmed that they are looking into the matter.

Premium subscribers for the game on Xbox One (the only platform the DLC is currently available for) recently logged into the game’s store only to find out that the DLC pack was listed in the store as “NULL DATA” alongside the description for it which was also "null."

Also, the price for the DLC, which theoretically is supposed to be free for all premium subscribers, has been listed as “empty,” with both the select and download options missing.

As expected, frustrated and angry Battlefield 4 owners have taken to the official game forum to discuss their experiences (obviously with a hope that either EA or Microsoft will hear their pleas and acknowledge the problem, if not provide a fix at least) while trying to download the Second Assault DLC on their Xbox Ones.

Frustration was in the air with the DLC missing in the store even though fans already paid for it. One user wrote: “I have not been able to access the second assault maps since Monday. I have waited the 'few days'. When will i get the maps? They should have waited a few days to take my money.” Another stated: “It's really bad pay £40 and not able to access it.”

The missing DLC wouldn’t have been that big a deal and fans might have dealt with waiting for the DLC to arrive, but the add-on for the game will remain exclusive for only 11 days.

And as per the thread, some users were told that the issue would not be resolved until next week, which was bad news since the DLC’s exclusivity period would be up by that time, and it would be released for other platforms.

However, thankfully an EA spokesperson intervened and confirmed that the company is looking into fixing the issue along with Microsoft.

“I know some of you have said already that it is being looked into but I wanted to just confirm it for you so you guys have a blue post to refer to,” spokesperson EA_Rick wrote.

“Right now all I can say is that we are aware of this issue and are currently investigating this with Microsoft. Once we have some more details I'll be sure to let you know.”

While the companies have now assured that the fix is being worked upon, we'll see if it reaches just in time before the exclusivity window closes, of if the window is stretched to another couple of days or so.
