'Enlisted' Latest News & Updates: New Game By Newly-Established Studio Promises Team-Based World War 2 Action! Find Out More Here!

If you ever thought, in the middle of playing "Battlefield 1," that maybe they should make a game like this but about the big battles that defined World War 2, then here's some good news. Even though there are very many period games about the second World War released over the years, here comes another one to ride on the current multiplayer FPS boom.

Darkflow Software, a newly-founded video game studio by a group of people calling themselves industry veterans, has just announced a new World War 2 online FPS called "Enlisted." GameSpot reports that "Enlisted" will have a similar premise as "Battlefield 1," in which huge groups of players will be populating both sides of the great conflict. However, Darkflow is putting in a new kind of twist that the genre has never seen before.

According to the official "Enlisted" website, the game will portray the war's big, legendary battles as realistically as possible. Think of the game revolving around everyone playing in one giant instance, like in MMORPGs such as "World of Warcraft," for each battle, such as the Allied landing in Normandy and the Battle of Moscow. Each battle will play out like actual campaigns in real life, taking days, or even months to complete, and each campaign will apparently be bought as standalone games.

"Enlisted" will run almost completely on the fans' gameplay and feedback, says Darkflow. Interested players can pre-order either one of the announced campaigns for only $22, or $50 for both plus extra items. The studio is working on it on a Kickstarter-like basis, and they'll begin work on a new campaign if they reach $250,000.

Fans can also decide on the next campaign after that if the company achieves $500,000, while Darkflow will begin making a console version if they reach $1 million. Players who preorder will be able to play a closed beta phase in the second half of 2017.
