It was recently announced that Marvel is partnering with ABC Broadcast network in order to bring to life a new television series titled "The Inhumans." The upcoming show is said to focus on the Inhuman royal family. It is said to introduce Black Bolt, Crystal, and Lockjaw, which will surely delight a lot of Marvel fans.
However, the premiere of "The Inhumans" is expected to be a big ordeal, as Marvel plans to start off the show on IMAX theaters. With that, this marks the series as a vital addition to Marvel Television. "In the incredibly crowded marketplace of television, we are very excited about this because it's a unique and innovative and bold way to debut our best new content," explained Ben Sherwood, president of Disney-ABC Television Group, as reported by New York Times.
With this big new addition to Marvel television, many believe that "The Inhumans" will be the key piece in connecting the movies and TV series of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Marvel fans have been waiting to see how Marvel series such as "Daredevil," "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." and the upcoming "The Defenders" will come to play in the new phase of the Marvel movies.
A Reddit user also pointed out that the characters of "The Inhumans" could be the main connection that will be relevant to the upcoming "Avengers: The Infinity Wars." It is believed that the royal family of "The Inhumans" could play a part in defeating Thanos. That said, this could be why many other networks are hoping to get a chance to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
