Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes Dated for March, Gets New Trailer, Will Feature Xbox Exclusive Raiden DLC [VIDEO]

Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes Hits March 18 with Exclusive Raiden Content for Xbox

While we already know, thanks to Hideo Kojima, that the upcoming Metal Gear Solid 5 will be divided into two parts – The Phantom Pain and Ground Zeroes, what we didn’t know was a potential release date for the titles. However, it has now been revealed that not only will Ground Zeroes be arriving in March next year, but it will also offer cyborg soldier Raiden as Xbox-exclusive content.

The information has been revealed by a couple of new trailer released by Konami (see below) called "Night" and "Jamais Vu." Night offers more glimpses into the Ground Zeroes' gameplay, Jamais Vu is the Xbox-exclusive add-on mission for the game.

Moreover, the Jamais Vu add-on mission is set to feature Raiden as he appeared in the previously released Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance earlier this year, and will only be available as DLC for Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

This is not the first time that an Xbox-exclusive content has been mentioned alongside the new Metal Gear Solid game. The first announcement was made during Spike TV's live broadcast of the event, held in Times Square's Best Buy Theater, where host Geoff Keighley confirmed that exclusive content for Ground Zeroes would be released for Microsoft's console when the game launches next year. No details on the DLC were revealed at the time.

And as far as players of the game on the PlayStation platforms are concerned, at the PlayStation 4 launch event earlier in November, Konami has already announced the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 versions of Ground Zeroes would be receiving the "Deja Vu" add-on content.

It was also revealed that this DLC content would be exclusive to Sony consoles and would feature polygonal Classic Snake as he appeared in the original PlayStation Metal Gear Solid, alongside an additional mission.

We're guessing that it won’t be long before the company comes ahead and discusses its exclusive plans for players on Sony’s consoles, which would then be treated to similar goodies.

Ground Zeroes, which is a prologue to the original game and leads directly to The Phantom Pain, according to the official page, “takes place at a US facility in Cuba in 1975,” and “Aside from the main story mission, the game also features several sub-missions known as Side-Ops, as well as multiple ‘trials’ that can be attempted for extra challenge and a chance to compete in community Rankings and Leaderboards. Second screen device support also planned.”

Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes, which is the standalone prequel to Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, will launch for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One on March 18. Check out the trailers below.
