‘Microsoft Surface’ Latest News & Updates: More Mac Users Now Switching to Surface Pro, Surface Book, Surface Studio, Surface Hub

Microsoft is reaping the success of its trade-in program, claiming that more and more Mac users are now switching to its Surface products. The Redmond tech giant said that it recorded historic turnout on the sales of its Surface Pro, Surface Book, Surface Studio and Surface Hub after these products were launched in October.

Microsoft said Surface Studio and Surface Dial captured immensely the consumers' imagination. While it did not disclosed any figure, Microsoft said the excitement of the consumer market was evident on the more than 10 million views of their launch video and the hundreds of thousands that watched the unboxing of Surface Studio.

The company pointed out that more and more Mac users and now switching to Microsoft Surface devices based on the turnout of its trade-in programs. In October, Microsoft expanded its trade-in program to cover Macs offering users of getting up to $650 in exchange for their old MacBook to a new Surface device. Surface Book is now available in Australia and New Zealand. It is slated to arrive in Austria, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Switzerland, and UK early next year.

Microsoft also sported the success of Surface Hub, saying the patronage for the product exceeded their expectations. Microsoft has shipped over 2,000 Surface Hubs in 24 markets. To expand its reach, the company will launch a try-and-buy program for the Surface Hub next year. The program gives consumers 30 days to try the device before actually buying it. Surface Hub is an interactive whiteboards with multi-touch and multi-pen capabilities running under Windows 10 operating system.

In a statement, Brian Hall, CVP Microsoft Devices Marketing, said the company is proud on the momentum and progress of the Surface line-up. With amazing team of hardware and software engineers, he said the company is dedicated to continually improving the Surface and Surface Hub products.

"You should expect the best and we expect to give you the best, today and tomorrow," he said.
