Gran Turismo 6 News: Glitch Discovered That Can Get You Millions of Credits [VIDEO]

Here's a Nifty Shortcut to Get You That Much Closer to Gran Turismo 6's Jaguar XJ13

There used to be a time, way back in the annals of gaming history, that if you wanted something the easy you, all you had to do was pop in the proper combination of buttons and you'd be golden. Now, you pay for it. Maybe it's laziness, or maybe it's entitlement that no one wants to work for things anymore, but right or wrong, microtransactions are the bane of modern day gamers. So when an old-school method like exploiting a glitch or a cheat code comes along that lets gamers skirt right around in-game purchases, you can be damn sure people will give it a go.

If you're looking for a shortcut in the PS3 exclusive racer Gran Turismo 6, today's your lucky day. A glitch has been discovered that can yield players tens of millions of credits in just a few short minutes. Just make sure you act fast, because when Sony finds that this is out there, you can expect them to patch the glitch, undo any progress as a result of it lickety split, or more than likely, both.

It's easy enough to do, and there's a video below explaining and showing the process just in case:

1. First, you'll need to make sure that the 1.01 patch has been installed on your game, and you have a few spare million credits.
2. Next, head into Vision GT and buy the Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo.
3. Save the game.
4. Head into the PS3's Game Data Utility and delete the 1.01 patch.
5. Reload the previously saved game. You'll be prompted to download the patch you just deleted. Make sure you don't.
6. Upon re-loading, you'll find your new Mercedes in the garage. Sell it, and you'll see now that you can get a king's fortune in in-game credits for doing so. The figure is absurdly high in the hundreds of thousands, but once the sale is complete, you'll see you've earned 20 million credits for the sale.

A few people have reported some issues trying to pull this off, but most are getting away "Fast and Furious." Make sure you don't get into the car once you buy it, and remember that there is a limit on this. The highest number of credits you'll reap is 20 million, but it's enough to buy you the Jaguar XJ13, the priciest car in the game, which carries a real world value of close to $200.

Again, don't count on this to last. While a bevy of gamers will no doubt find some way to justify exploiting the glitch, Sony will be quick to quash any option that keeps money out of its pocket.
