Box Office: 'Moana' Dominates In Movie Theaters As It Beats 'Office Christmas Party,' 'Fantastic Beasts,'' 'La La Land' And 'Doctor Strange'

Several movies are available in theaters this Christmas season, but it is the Walt Disney Film, "Moana" that is dominating the movie screens. The animated film is now the number 1 movie in theaters as of the moment.

According to a report from Forbes, Walt Disney's "Moana" already beated the movie from Paramount called, "Office Christmas Party." The two films were said to be in a close fight during the weekend.

The report further claimed that, the film earned a total of $4.147 million yesterday, which sums up the domestic total to $130.3m after surpassing two weeks of release. This is said to be a 36% drop from last Friday. It is expected that it will have an over/under $19m earnings this weekend, which is a drop of around 31% plus a new cume of $145m dollars.

It is still on tie with "Toy Story 2" and so much ahead of "Tangled," but it is still way behind of "Frozen." Reports claimed that the new Disney movie will become another box office hit and will become a huge non-Pixar Disney toons ever.

"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" is still allegedly holding greatly for the Warner Bros./Time Warner Inc., yet it dropped 43% during its fourth Friday for a total of $2.85 million gross, which brought its cume to $191.3m domestic.

Meanwhile, Yahoo unveiled that "La La Land," broke the records in its debut in New York and Los Angeles. The movie starring Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone danced to $855,000 from the five theaters in the said cities, which sums up an average of $171,000.

"Office Christmas Party" debuted at a whooping $16.3 million offshore for the global debut of $33.9 million dollars. The comedy films stars Jennifer Aniston, Jason Bateman, T.J. Miller, Olivia Munn, Jillian Bell, Rob Corddry, Kate McKinnon and Courtney B. Vance.

"Doctor Strange" earned a total of $1.2m on Friday for a likely $4.3m over the weekend and $222m dollars for its domestic total.
