Vlambeer's Super Crate Box Now Free For Playstation Vita

Sony's Festive Giveaway Continues With Super Crate Box Free For PS Vita

Sony must be crazy. That's the only way to explain why they've been giving away two free Playstation Mobile titles a week. Either crazy or implementing an excellent marketing strategy to remind people that they have mobile phone titles that are also playable on Vita... that could be the case too, I suppose.

In any case, Vita owners should run right to the shop and download Vlambeer's Super Crate Box. If you play games on iOS you might be familiar with the developers, who took the App Store by storm with the incredible Ridiculous Fishing this year. Super Crate Box was actually Vlambeer's first title, released for free on PCs back in 2010. An iOS version hit in 2012 and a Commodore 64 version (you heard that right) became available in October of this year.

Super Crate Box isn't the only free game this week either, you can download Fuel Tiracas by FuturLab as well. It's a game that's half Wack-a-mole and half Simon, that sees you tapping lights in procession in order to fuel nuclear reactors in order to terraform the uninhabitable planet Tiracas. It's a light, fun title.

This is the third week these giveaways have occurred, so hopefully you've been keeping on top of the last two weeks. Last week Sony give away both F K Digital's side-scrolling hack and slash Mononoke Showdown and Ripstone Ltd.'s first person shooter throwback Gun Commando; two weeks ago it was Honeyslug's addictive soccer game Passing Time paired up with Martin Jonasson's incredible space strategy title Rymdkapsel. There's been a ton of great titles in this batch so kudos to them for even shining a light on them all.

Vita owners- you have nothing to lose! Get to downloading Super Crate Box and Fuel Tiracas and keep an eye on the Playstation Store in the new year for more free Playstation Mobile titles.
