Filming for “Bones” Season 12, which also happens to be the final season for the series has finished if the Twitter posts of its cast are anything to by. From the show’s leads like David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel, to even some of the guests who have dropped by through the years, have indicated that they were done filming.
It’s a wrap
According to sources, the cast and crew had their wrap party one night last week and celebrated "Bones" Season 14 as one of the most successful and longest running series at the Fox network. And, why not? The show has survived, throughout its long run, several cast changes, a few timeslot shifts and hiatuses, to make it to where it is today.
Before “Bones” Season 12, the show has always been seen as an underdog, never knowing until when it was going to air. It could be that this kept its loyal fans on their toes, ready to rally season after season to prevent their favorite show from getting canceled.
Boreanaz directs series finale
Meanwhile, Boreanaz is known to be directing the final episode of “Bones” Season 12 and thus, the series as well. While filming said episode, Boreanaz shared some behind the scenes photos which at the same time hinted at something major happening that will destroy the lab where most of scenes from the series were shot. In one of the pictures the actor, who plays FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth, was scene in the wreckage of the lab. Boreanaz thanked the fans who have supported the series until “Bones” Season 12.
Is Zack The Puppeteer?
“Bones” Season 12 will pick up right when Brennan (Emily Deschanel) was kidnapped by Zack, a former intern. At the time of the kidnapping, the Jeffersonian team joined forces with the FBI were hot on the trail of the serial killer known as the Puppeteer and assumed that he was the one who abducted Brennan. It seems that isn’t the case however.
According to “Bones” Season 12 promo photos, Brennan appears to be unharmed and in an abandoned warehouse after her abduction by Zack. In another photo, Zack is holding a syringe and Brennan had her hands held up as if trying to stop him. Then, Booth appears to have found his wife and will shoot Zack. But, Brennan appears to be protecting Zack from being shot by Booth. Why exactly she is doing this remains to be one of the things to watch out for when “Bones” Season 12 premieres on January 3 on Fox.
