Xbox One vs PS4: Ron Burgundy Speaks Out on the Console War

You've Seen South Park's Take on the PlayStation 4 - Xbox One Battle, Now Here's Ron Burgundy's

The party lines were drawn long before anyone knew much of anything about either next-gen console, and now that both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One are upon us, the battle rages on harder than ever between the fanboys in a truly vicious cockfight. So much so that pop culture's in on how stupid the back and forth is.

Hot on the heels of South Park, it seems as though IGN whipped up a DeLorean complete with flux capacitor and pulled Run Burgundy out from time, just so the mustachoied man could use his voice that makes wolverines purr to deliver his own thoughts on the current console skirmish, and provide yet another opportunity for us to quote him ad nauseam. Scotchy scotch scotch.

As tends to happen, Odin's raven has managed to pluck the video out from the outlet's graps and dropped it onto YouTube. You'll find it embedded below.

Which one would Burgundy pick? Whichever one dispensed Scotch, followed by his telling it to either stay classy, or that he wants to be friends with it.

That didn't help you much decide between the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, huh? Yeah, well...go fuck yourself San Diego.

Under the hood, the PlayStation 4 boasts Supercharged PC architecture, X86 CPU, Enhanced PC GPU, and 8GB Unified Memory according to the official specs.

It supports the same PlayStation Plus service as the Vita and PlayStation 3. However, a Plus subscription is required for online multiplayer games, but not for additional media services like Netflix. Sony has also updated the Dual Shock controllers with a touch screen and improved shoulder triggers, and bundles the console with a headset.

Available titles for the system include Killzone: Shadow FallKnackResogun, and more. You can check out a complete list of launch titles' prices and install sizes here. It currently retails for $399.

In the opposite corner, Microsoft's Xbox One claims an 8-core x86 processor and Microsoft hopes it will take the place of the family room cable box by letting you watch Blu-ray movies and TV through the console, in a "seamless transition" that lets players switch from playing games to watching shows and/or movies. It will come fully loaded with 8GB of RAM and a 500GB hard drive.

The console's exclusives include Dead Rising 3Killer InstinctRyse: Son of Rome, and more. You can check out a list of the install sizes for all of the launch games here. The Xbox One retails for $499.
