Crystal Palace vs. Manchester United Match Preview

The Eagles currently sit 15th on the EPL table after 15 games. They have only won once in the last eight games and tt came from a surprising 3-0 win against Southampton last December 3. Crystal Palace is coming off a thrilling 3-3 draw against Hull City over the weekend.

On the other hand, Manchester United continued their unbeaten ways by defeating Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford last weekend. Henrikh Mkhitaryan scored the winner in the 1-0 victory but he is set to miss a couple of weeks with an ankle injury.

One of the possible replacements for the in-form Armenian star is Wayne Rooney. However, United manager Jose Mourinho doubts Rooney will be in the starting lineup against Crystal Palace. He told The Guardian some of the players he is thinking of inserting in the starting eleven.

"Rooney, Rashford, Lingard, Ashley Young, Memphis Depay. That's a position where we have lots of players so that will not be another problem, to chose a player to play. The problem is he (Mkhitaryan) was playing so well and now he's not there," Mourinho said.

Possible Formation and Starting XI

Crystal Palace (4-2-3-1): Wayne Hennessey; Joel Ward, Damien Delaney, Scott Dann, Martin Kelly; James McArthur, Joe Ledley; Wilfried Zaha, Andros Townsend, Jason Puncheon; Christian Benteke

Manchester United (4-2-3-1): David De Gea; Antonio Valencia, Daley Blind, Phil Jones, Marcos Rojo; Ander Herrera, Michael Carrick; Juan Mata, Paul Pogba, Anthony Martial; Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Prediction: Manchester United defeats Crystal Palace 2-1.
