Infinite Crisis News: Robin Arrives [VIDEO]

Remaining Half of the Dynamic Duo, Robin, Hits Infinite Crisis

It seems staying in the shadows in the Arkham series just isn't enough for this bird brain. The boy wonder Robin is due to arrive in Turbine's DC MOBA, Infinite Crisis, as a playable character this Wednesday. But for those of you without the patience of this junior detective, we've got a special sneak peek for you.

Just to get this out of the way for you with some familiarity with the comics, this is the Robin with Tim Drake behind the mask, so maybe Nightwing could make an appearance, or any of the other Robins (fingers crossed Damian stays far, far away). For those of you not aware, Drake took up the sidekick role not long after Jason Todd, the second Robin, was killed by the Joker. A keen investigative mind allowed him to deduce that Batman was none other than Bruce Wayne. Because, evidently, only a truly keen teenage set of detective skills can deduce that a man who spends his nights running around with "wonderful toys" like an arsenal of gadgets, planes, cars, submarines, helicoptors, and God only knows what else MUST be the city's only billionaire.

While Robin is quite skilled in battle, he plays better in Crisis as an acrobatic melee support, marking targets and disrupting teams. He's not the most damaging attacker, but would do well as a point man to hit enemies with status attacks and quickly dash off. The status attacks will help make enemies that much easier for stronger party members to finish off.

Still, Robin's no slouch, and can fight when need be. His ultimate is a double edged sword, knock back enemies and suppor in the immediate area is best avoided if you try to take him on toe-to-toe. It also has the added benefit of buffing attack and power damage of allies also in the area.

Check him out in the video below, as well as a few tips and tricks for how to best utilize Robin when he arrives on Wednesday, December 18.

Still in beta testing mode, Infinite Crisis is marked for a Windows exclusive launch sometime this year. Other playable DC mainstays include Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, Batman, Catwoman, Cyborg, Flash, Harley Quinn, Doomsday, the Joker, Poison Ivy, Shazam, and Zatanna, with alternate versions and plans to include even more characters. Interested players can still sign up for the Infinite Crisis closed beta here.
