Jeremy Lin News And Updates: How Lin Helps The Brooklyn Nets Now That He's Playing

Now that Jeremy Lin has resumed playing for the Brooklyn Nets, expect the team to improve their performance. But missing 17 games due to an injury will leave some questions as to how Jeremy Lin can integrate himself back into the system and shake off the ring rust. Add to that the limited minutes Jeremy Lin will be playing for the first few games making the adjustment period longer.  Fortunately for the Nets Jeremy Lin already has ideas on how he can impact the team even playing in a minute's restriction.

While recovering from his injuries, Jeremy Lin didn't let his disability stop him from helping his team. He was often seen on the bench taking notes and stats and providing analysis for the game to help the Nets. Having a Harvard degree in Economics certainly helped in his analysis of the Net's stats. But when asked on how Jeremy Lin can help the Nets once he steps on the court, he said that his observations on the bench helped determine what he needed to do to help the team. "Just in terms of being able to observe the team, I feel like I know exactly what I need to do when I come back or what I need to bring," Jeremy Lin said.

When asked about his approach, he said that he would bring leadership and stability as a point guard. "When I come back, I want to bring a lot of leadership. I understand better how I think certain units and certain players play together and what plays and sets to be in primarily with that lineup. I just want to bring stability more than anything, and leadership," Jeremy Lin said.

Jeremy Lin played just his first game since the injury against the Houston Rockets and registering a respectable 10 point and 7 assist performance in 20 minutes of play. Jeremy Lin's value to the Nets were proven in his +/- numbers. The Nets were +17 on points when Jeremy Lin was on court while a -21 when he was on the bench. His teammate Brook Lopez felt that Jeremy Lin didn't need to shake off the rust and telling that he just fit in immediately. His coach Kenny Atkinson also praised Jeremy Lin in his return saying Lin knows where exactly the ball needs to be and gets it there.

Despite a dismal record of 6-17, the Nets should feel good about Jeremy Lin returning. Expect them to be better as Jeremy Lin regains his starting role.
