'Aquaman' News & Update: Patrick Wilson Joins Cast As Villain

Patrick Wilson might soon take some time off fighting Valak and other demonic forces as he was recently tapped to join DC's upcoming movie, "Aquaman". On top of that, he will be playing the role of a villain.

Wilson will play the antagonistic character of Orm Curry (also known as the Ocean Master) in the upcoming "Aquaman" movie, as per Deadline. Orm is Arthur Curry's (Jason Momoa's Aquaman) half-brother.

Just like Thor and Loki, Orm and Arthur have a sibling rivalry in DC's "Aquaman". In the comics, Orm grew up living under the shadows of Arthur and he hates the fact that he had no powers like his brother. He eventually transformed himself by using technology.

Moreover, since Wilson is now added to the "Aquaman" cast, he will soon be reunited with the movie's director, James Wan. Wan even confirmed Wilson's addition to the cast via Twitter.

Aside from the upcoming "Aquaman" movie, the two already worked together in "The Conjuring" and "The Conjuring 2". They worked on "Insidious" and "Insidious: Chapter 2" as well.

Wilson 's Ocean Master will soon menace the "Aquaman" movie along with Black Manta, according to Comicbook.com. Black Manta is said to be Aquaman's greatest foe. However, the actor who will play the said role is still underwraps.

In addition, Wilson will also be working with Amber Heard. In the "Aquaman" movie, Heard will play the character of Mera, Arthur's love interest. She is, of course, also the Queen of Atlantis.

This is not the first time Wilson played a part in DC movies. Aside from the forthcoming "Aquaman" movie, he also took part in "Wacthmen" where he played the character of Night Owl.

Fans will have to wait a little longer - or even more -- for the premiere of "Aquaman". Jason Momoa's Aquaman is set swim into big screens on October 5, 2018.
