Call of Duty: Ghosts' Season Pass Trailered [VIDEO]

Call of Duty: Ghosts Gets a Season Pass a Month After Release

Interesting timing for Activision and Infinity Ward. Call of Duty: Ghosts has been out for over a month now, but it seems as though now is the time for the game's Season Pass to be revealed via a new trailer. Funny, as most companies choose to unveil Season Passes for games either long before, or right around the time of release.

Better late than never I suppose. Here's the cut and dry: Buying the pass lets players grab four DLC packs, a relese schedule for which has noy yet been given. The packs are Onslaught, Devestation, Invasion, and Nemesis (interestingly, that spells out ODIN, the space station that features in the game). No exact details yet, but the packs are said to offer "brand new multiplayer maps, bonus weapons, and a unique 4-part episodic Extinction experience."

Additional content includes instant access to the map originally only offered as a pre-order bonus, Free Fall, and the Team Leader digital content pack, which "includes a unique MP character head" sporting the Ghost mask, weapon camo, reticle, player patch, player card and player background, all of which will be playable in-game upon purchase.

For anyone who has the game on either PS3 or Xbox 360 and plans on upgrading to the next-gen systems, anyone who buys the pass by the end of May 2014, all the content comes with you to the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One.

Check out the trailer below.

Call of Duty: Ghosts takes place in a near future following an attack from space that leaves Los Angeles virtually wiped out, and the United States' infrastructure devastated. Years later, the country is invaded by a new superpower, a conglomerate of South American nations calling itself the "Federation." What's left of America's special forces have come together to form the titular "Ghosts," and it's up to them to wage guerrilla warfare against the Federation in order to protect what remains of the United States, and drive the Federation out.

Beyond the campaign, the game's multiplayer mode, which promises a slew of different customization options for weapons, character camos, and more. Over 30 new weapons are included alongside old favorites like the UMP45 and the M4A1.

Despite not the best reviews ever for a Call of Duty game, Ghosts was a hit right out of the gate. We learned recently thatGhosts is the most played multiplayer game in the world, and was also the top-selling game in November, the month when both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One released.

Festive new DLC is now available that can turn your dog into a vicious wolf, or transform your gun with some truly horrendous looking Christmas sweater camo.
