UFC 208 Spoilers, Latest News & Update: Holly Holm Gets Chance At Redemption With New Featherweight Title In February 2017

Former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Holly Holm has been relegated to the sidelines but all that chances in 2017. The “Preacher’s Daughter” will get another shot at a UFC title with reports that Holm will be facing Dutch striker Germaine de Randamie at UFC 208 on Feb. 11 in Brooklyn, New York.

This should be the perfect opportunity for Holm to get her career back on track. After shocking the world last year with a knockout win over Ronda Rousey, the 35-year-old has lost two fights in a row.

That included losing the UFC title to Miesha Tate in March and then to Valentina Schevchenko in July. With two losses in a row, Holm is eager to get back on the winning track, Bleacher Report reported.

Achieving that may, however, be tough to overcome. De Randamie is coming off back-to-back wins after suffering a loss to reigning UFC bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes. The Dutch striker has defeated Larissa Pacheco and Anna Elmose at UFC 185 and UFC Fight Night respectively.

While the new title is certainly an opportunity for female fighters left out in the cold, most are wondering where Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino is in the mix? It turns out that she turned down the opportunity because she couldn’t make the weight, MMA Fighting reported.

Cyborg has had problems trimming down and claims that she almost died the last time she cut down weight. Justino adds that she has yet to make a full recovery. With that set, it will be interesting what other cards will join the Holm vs. De Randamie match at UFC 208.

Jose Aldo facing Max Holloway could be a possibility seeing how the two have started their war of words. Other than that, more UFC 208 fight cards are likely to be announced in the coming months.
