Snoop Lion Honors Pokémon in Reincarnated's 'Get Away' [VIDEO]

Snoop Lion Used Smokescreen in 'Get Away!' It's Super Effective!

Snoop Do...beg your pardon, Snoop Lion, is paying tribute, or perhaps I should say "giving props" to Nintendo's horde of pocket monsters with his latest music video, "Get Away." The video begins looking like the old Game Boy Color lineup of the series, Silver, Gold, and Crystal, but with more vibrant color, and the border is reminiscent of the different options player could pick from on the Super Game Boy. Wow...now I'm really dating myself.

After a poke-styled confrontation, there's a nice sidescrolling piece of Snoop in a space aged 64, notably absent of spinners. But what it lacks in rims, it makes up for with the ability to shoot out laser rainbow beams. Really. Ultimtely, Snoop and Major Lazer combine their abilities to take down a multi eyed boombox blasting soundwaves. Personally, I like to think it represents the ultimate defeat of Skrillex and Snoop's victory over dubstep and wub-wub, but that's just my interpretation.

Check it out below.

There's a wide array of puns that can be made here, but I'll leave that to you folks in the comments section...

We always knew Snoop was always something of a gamer, having appeared as a background character in, and contributing to the soundtrack of Tekken Tag Tournament 2, as well as provided the voice and likeness for the big baddie Crow in Def Jam: Fight for NY. He even launched his own based fighting game Way of the Dogg last year, though it didn't fare too well. It currently has a score of 41 from aggregate score site Metacritic.

As for Pokémon, things are going great, but could be going better. An influx of new monster hunters courtesy of Christmas led to an overcrowded Nintendo network, which caused the higher ups to delay the arrival of Poké-apps like the Pokémon Bank outside of Japan. As of yet, there's still no word on when the Bank is expected to arrive.

A post on Nintendo's Facebook page read, "Hi, Pokémon fans. As you may know, we are currently experiencing a large volume of traffic on the Nintendo Network service. Due to the high traffic, we are postponing the launch of Pokémon Bank and Poké Transporter until further notice. As a Nintendo standard, we strive for the utmost quality before launching any of our applications. We truly regret the inconvenience, and wish to reassure you that providing a solution is our top priority. We apologize for the delay and thank you for your continued patience."

It's unknown how this will affect the free 30 day trial for anyone who downloads and activates the service prior to January 31, if at all.

That aside, things are going quite well for the brand.

Pokémon X and Y released this past fall to rave reviews as well as great sales numbers. As a matter of fact, Game Freak Director Junichi Masuda's recently revealed that since launch, over ten million of the little monsters have been exchanged since the game launched. It's also been reported byNintendo Life that Masuda expressed interest in making more Mega Evolutions.

The games represent a radical change for the franchise, the top down perspective having been replaced with more of a three quarter perspective, and battles look radically different. As per usual, players will see several new pokémon, 5 of which were teased in the game's trailer at the time of the announcement. There's the usual array of new starter Pokémon, and each game will play host its own type of new, legendary Pokémon. And what's more, a number of classic Pokémon have earned mega-evolutions they can transform into during battle.

No DLC is planned for the games.
